The Queue and the dashboard, rebuilt

Two screens carried too much. The Queue had counters, values and a streak badge around the one thing it exists for: deciding whether Tidst got an item right. It now shows the task first, who it is for underneath, and two answers — Log, or Edit if something is off. Nothing else.

The dashboard used to open with the same stats bar every other page had. It now opens with the month itself: hours tracked, what they are worth, your effective hourly rate, and how that compares to the month before. The arrows beside the period step back as far as you have been tracking, so last quarter is three presses away rather than unreachable.

Beside those sits a figure Tidst could always have told you and never did: how many hours are billable, finished, and have not left the app yet. Work that never reaches an invoice is the whole reason Tidst exists, so it is on the front page now.

One correction came with it. A client on a fixed fee or a retainer was being priced on the dashboard with whatever hourly rate happened to resolve — their own leftover rate, or your account default. Those rows now read the client’s actual agreement, so the number is what you are owed rather than what an unused rate multiplied out to.

On a phone the four places you go most sit under your thumb, and Tidst opens dark unless you have asked for light.
