Recurring Todoist tasks show up

Fixed

21 August 2026

If you have a task that repeats — a weekly report, a monthly maintenance window, a daily standup — it never once reached The Queue, and there was no way to tell why from the outside.

The reason is in how Todoist works. Completing a recurring task does not close it; it rolls the due date forward. So it never lands in the list of completed tasks, which is where Tidst was looking. A weekly report could be ticked off every week for a year and never appear as work you could log.

Tidst now reads those completions from Todoist's activity log instead, where every occurrence does exist. They turn up separately, one per time you completed it, and your time labels still work — those are read from the task itself, because the activity log does not carry them.

It works on any Todoist plan. Thank you to the user who told us they were missing; it is not the kind of gap that reports itself.

Tidst is a time tracker for freelancers.

It brings completed Todoist tasks and relevant calendar meetings into one place for review, so your timesheet does not start from memory. Free to use.
