Pick a theme, not a colour

Improved

26 August 2026

Settings used to offer six accent colours. It was the wrong question. A time tracker is not something people express themselves through, and offering six brands meant Tidst had none — no two accounts looked like the same product.

The three themes ask something you can actually answer: **how much colour do you want on screen.** Light keeps the greys neutral and uses sage only where it means something — the button, the amount, the bars. Sage tints the whole page and leaves your work on white surfaces. Dark is the same idea on a dark ground.

The layout is identical in all three. Only the ground moves, which is what makes them themes rather than three different products.

If you had chosen dark or light, you still have it. If you had chosen an accent colour, that choice is no longer used — the colour is sage everywhere now. That is the one thing this takes away, and it is deliberate: a product people recognise is worth more than six that nobody does.

Tidst is a time tracker for freelancers.

It brings completed Todoist tasks and relevant calendar meetings into one place for review, so your timesheet does not start from memory. Free to use.
